Initialise Grants 2025

Posted by & filed under , .

Dear Partners in Mission as we Go for Growth,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

The Mission and Discipleship Committee is excited to announce invite applications for the Initialise Grant :  a special opportunity to spark new missional initiatives within our denomination. Thanks to the generous support of the Council for World Mission (CWM), we are able to offer five grants of R20,000 each to assist presbyteries, congregations, or fellowships in starting new and innovative ministry work that breaks new ground for the Gospel.

These grants are not for maintenance, administration, or routine expenses – they are designed to help new missional ideas take root and grow. We are looking for creative, faith-filled projects that reach beyond the boundaries of existing congregations, engage unreached people, and lead toward new worshiping communities or fresh forms of ministry.

We warmly invite you to apply. But please note:

  • There are only five grants available, so the process will be competitive.

  • The deadline for submissions is 20 November 2025.

  • Applications must include all the information requested in the attached form; incomplete applications unfortunately cannot be considered.

  • Grants will be disbursed in mid-December 2025 via the relevant Presbytery.

Let’s seize this opportunity to dream boldly, to innovate in faith, and to explore new ways of embodying Christ’s mission in our communities. We look forward to hearing your stories, seeing your creativity, and celebrating what God is doing through you.

You can see the application form below or download it HERE.

With gratitude to CWM for making this possible, and with great expectation for the growth that lies ahead,

Yours in Christ,
Rev. Richard Mkandawire
